Things I've Sewn: Tie Blanket

Recently over winter break my mom got me a project to do, which turned out to be a No-Sew Tie Blanket. I had a fun time making this even though it only took me about and hour. I got it from Joanns. I decided to get a fun fabric which is why I ended up getting the 3-D boxes, which I think turned out pretty cool! This project was very easy and took no time at all. Plus it is very warm!

Things I've Sewn: Laptop Sleeve

In my clothing and fashion class we were working on making laptop sleeves for our Macs. I really enjoyed this project even though at times it could be a little tricky! I got the fabric at Hancock Fabrics. For the outside cover I used a black and white floral print. For the inside I used a solid purple and I used a plain black zipper. You could also add an embellishment if you want. I added a purple flower that goes with the fabric on the inside of the sleeve. I hand-sewed the flower on. I found the flower in the baby section because it is normaly used for making baby headbands. You could also embroider your initials into the front of your sleeve if you have an embroidery machine. The supplies for the laptop cover are listed below:

Things I've Sewn: Pillowcases

This year I'm taking a Clothing and Fashion class at school. At first I wasn't so sure if i wanted to take the class but I though I would give it a try. So far I've liked the class and we have made a lot of different things. I just finished the first semester of the class and we so far have made pillowcases, pajama pants and a laptop case. Since I have liked sewing a lot i though i'd get my sewing machine out at home and make a few things. So far I've made 4 pillowcases and a laptop case for a friend. I really like going to Joanns and picking out the fabrics for all of my projects. My home project at the moment is making napkins and I hope to make more things and post about them.

    Below is the pillowcase I made at home. I got the fabric from Joanns. I really liked the body fabric because it had dogs doing yoga on it. I decided to match the dog fabric with a fabric that has dog bones on it that say "Good Dog" which I used for the band.
